"The changes Governor McAuliffe has made in the restoration of rights process were much needed and are commendable actions by our governor. Virginia is stronger when it is more open and transparent, and this announcement is another step in the right direction. I look forward to seeing additional progress the Governor and his team will make in the restoration of rights process, and ensuring more of our citizens who have done their time and paid their debt to society can re-enter into the civic process."

Delegate Jennifer McClellan served as keynote speaker at the Richmond Department of Motor Vehicles Broad Street Headquarters for its Women’s History Month program on Thursday, March 27. The Delegate spoke on this year’s theme, “Celebrating Women of Character, Courage, and Commitment.”

In honor of her consistent efforts in the General Assembly to support public education and the dedicated employees who work in our schools, Delegate Jennifer McClellan was given a Legislative Champion Award by the VEA at the convention today. In her acceptance speech, she spoke of her father's career as an educator and how it influences her work today.

At the 2014 VEA Convention, Governor Terry McAuliffe signed into law Del. McClellan's bill requiring school boards to develop lactation policies to support nursing employees and students.
